I was reminded recently that it has been a while since I have written in my Chronicles, so I figured I'd give you a quick update on what's been going on since my last entry. I think the biggest thing is that I'm 2 now! Almost 2 and a half. Can you believe it? Time flies, I know.
It's summertime and I love swimming in our pool. MommaBear says she is so proud of her "grandpuppy" because I cans swim and play by myself, even though I am only 2. She gets to float around on a raft while I drop my pool toy in the water and pick it up again. And again. And again. And when she tosses it in the water for me, I get to swim over to it. I'm really getting good at swimming without splashing!
Uncle Awex is home and he plays with me a lot. He went away for a while to some place MommaBear called Austria and while he was there, he met a doggie named Blue. Blue is a sheep dog who was getting ready to go up the mountain for his first summer guarding the sheep. Sounds like work to me. I'd rather stay home on the couch - I mean - stay home guarding the house. I'm glad Uncle Awex got to have a little puppy-love while he was away. Just as long as he didn't forget ME.
My daddy works way too much, but every night he spends time with me playing ball in the living room and snuggling on the couch. I just love that guy.
So, that's it for now. Honest. So, if you're a person, especially one with a puppy, you don't need to read any further. Really. There's nothing to see here. You can all go home now and go about your business.
OK, pups... have all of your people left the room?Great. Now, if you're a puppy, like me, you need to keep reading! Wait until you hear this one! I got my people to fee me dinner 3 times the other day. Yup. 3 times. Plus, I had breakfast, too. I felt like a Hobbit with all the extra meals. It's all in the "look". You have to sit by your food dish and look sad and hungry. If that doesn't work, you go to the source. My food is kept in the closet in the hall so I go there and poke at it with my nose. Eventually, they get the message. The trick, though, is this.... Only one of your people can be home for this to work. MommaBear always feeds me breakfast. But, Uncle Awex wasn't sure the other day because I gave him the puppy-eyes at the food dish around 2:30 that day and he gave me 1 cup (I get 2 cups) - just in case MommaBear had not fed me. Then, around 5pm, he gave me my usual dinner. Then, he left and Daddy came home and since no one else was home, he thought no one had fed me, so after I gave him the puppy-eyes, he gave me my usual 2 cups for dinner. Then, since it was Friday night, he left to go visit a friend. When Momma came home later... you guessed it. More puppy-eyes, and another cup of food.
So, remember pups, don't underestimate the well-timed puppy-eyes look. It could just get you some extra sympathy and, if you're lucky, 2nd (and 3rd) dinners.
